When will I get my first period? What you can do to prepare
Since I don't know when my period will come, I think I'm going to panic if it starts all of a sudden. What if my period comes when I'm at school, juku (cram school), or somewhere else but home.
I understand you are worried even if you know that you won't bleed so much when you have your first period. If you are prepared, there should be no reason to panic when it comes. Let's start preparing now.
Have these things ready!
Pads are feminine hygiene products used for absorbing menstrual blood. There are all different types to choose from to make yourself comfortable during your period. You should at least have two types, one for the day and another for night.
2. Period panties
These are panties specially designed for women to wear during their periods. Period panties are stain resistant and some have a double layer construction in the crotch area that allows you to tuck a pad's wings inside the panties. All different types are available. Always have three to four pairs ready.
A pouch will come in handy for carrying your pads. While some may use more pads and others may use fewer, a pouch that can carry five to six pads will do the job when you go out.
4. Pocket planner or calendar
It would be a good idea to use a pocket planner or calendar to keep a record of your menstrual cycle. Keep a record by marking the day or put a sticker on the day you get your period.
I see. There are a lot of things I should get to prepare myself. I should have these things ready before I get my first period.
